Why us? Why Cabbies? Why not the cops/post men/some other state/local/federal employee? The largest buyers of fuel and cars in the entire world are the combined branches of the U.S. Government. When taxis had vinyl interiors I would go to the car wash, open the doors, and hose it out. Then wipe it down with a bleach solution. I too wonder if $50.00 is enough. There is some pain and suffering involved along with the lost time. $75.00 seems about right to me. Ask for $100.00 and see what you get. By the way, nice site. If I drove, I would want a "credit card swipe", or some such, up front, to avoid the potential arguments afterward ..about extra fees... We, in SF, have a pretty good one, (sftaxi.com... as I recall) I am a former Taxi Commissioner in SF, and have property in Cambridge...
