[...] PS I never got a clear answer to this question from anyone. Why us? Why Cabbies? Why not the cops/post men/some other state/local/federal employee? The largest buyers of fuel and cars in the entire world are the combined branches of the U.S. Government. Why not make them buy the hybrids first and then by the time I got one… or bought one for some other rich jerk.. it would have not been a hardship as it is now The v8 is good enough for the Governor and his men? No responses yet « My back and forth ongoing argument with John Moore the man who brought the $25,000 taxi to B... [...]

Good luck with the puke fee. When taxis had vinyl interiors I would go to the car wash, open the doors, and hose it out. Then wipe it down with a bleach solution.

I too wonder if $50.00 is enough. There is some pain and suffering involved along with the lost time. $75.00 seems about right to me. Ask for $100.00 and see what you get.

By the way, nice site. Though the white on yellow is hard to read in the comments section.

I think the way fares are charged is all in the favor of the customer, and very risky for the driver.
If I drove, I would want a "credit card swipe", or some such, up front, to avoid the potential arguments afterward ..about extra fees...

Is there a citywide cab industry discussion board, for the greater boston area. We, in SF, have a pretty good one, (sftaxi.com... as I recall)

I am a former Taxi Commissioner in SF, and have property in Cambridge...

Cheers,

Michael,

Thanks for your support!

When we first proposed the "puke tax" people laughed.

As the discussions rolled on, people started to realize what an ordeal we must have when somebody throws up in one of our cabs.

Soon the conversations were about how $50 wasn't enough.
