Nicole Chuminski convicted in South Boston (Southie) Arson Homocide
After deliberating for less then a day today February 16th 2010 a Boston Jury found Nicole Chuminski guilty of second degree murder in the arson deaths of 14 year old Acia Johnson and her 3 year old sister Sophia.
Second degree murder carries a mandatory life sentence with a possibility of parole after 15 years.
The girls mother Anna Reisopolous who was Chuminski`s girlfriend testified that they had been arguing the night before at a wedding reception held in Weymouth and that the she had heard Chuminkski screaming and swearing at her from the street moments before the fire bomb exploded on her front door.
Reisopolous and her son Raymond Jr. were unable to rescue Acia and her sister from the upper level of the South Boston apartment and fire-fighters found the bodies of the two girls locked into an embrace.
